Mexico City — 8 nights

City of Palaces

Breathtakingly large, Mexico City provides a home for almost 9 million people living in nearly 1,700 distinct neighborhoods.
Zona Arqueológica de Teotihuacan Estacionamiento Puerta 5 and Museo del Templo Mayor will appeal to history buffs. Museo Nacional de Antropologia and Museo Frida Kahlo will appeal to museum buffs. Venture out of the city with trips to Piramide de la Serpiente Emplumada (in San Juan Teotihuacan) and Parque Acuatico (in Ixtapan de la Sal). There's lots more to do: pause for some serene contemplation at Basilica de Santa Maria de Guadalupe, get to know the fascinating history of Zocalo, stop by Coyoacan, and take in the spiritual surroundings of Catedral Metropolitana de la Ciudad de Mexico.
