Breathtakingly large, Mexico City provides a home for almost 9 million people living in nearly 1,700 distinct neighborhoods.Get out of town with these interesting Mexico City side-trips: Amecameca (Paso de Cortes & Museo de Sor Juana Ines de la Cruz), Tlalnepantla (Gokartmania, Plaza Tlalne Fashion Mall, &more) and San Juan Teotihuacan (Zona Arqueológica de Teotihuacan Estacionamiento Puerta 5, Piramide de la Serpiente Emplumada, &more). Spend the 2nd (Sat) exploring nature at Iztaccihuatl and Popocatepetl National Park. There's still lots to do: get engrossed in the history at Museo Nacional de Antropologia, explore the world behind art at Palacio de Bellas Artes, explore the galleries of Museo del Templo Mayor, and contemplate the long history of Basilica de Santa Maria de Guadalupe.
