Mexico City — 3 nights

Breathtakingly large, Mexico City provides a home for almost 9 million people living in nearly 1,700 distinct neighborhoods.Let the collections at Museo Nacional de Antropologia and Monumento y Museo de la Revolucion capture your imagination. Discover out-of-the-way places like Museo de Arte Popular and Museo del Tiempo Tlalpan. Change things up with these side-trips from Mexico City: Zona Arqueológica de Teotihuacan Estacionamiento Puerta 5 (in San Juan Teotihuacan), Palacio de Cortes (in Cuernavaca) and Malinalco (Zona Arqueologica Malinalco & Parroquia del Divino Salvador). There's still lots to do: examine the collection at Museo Frida Kahlo, wander the streets of La Condesa, learn about all things military at Museo del Ejercito y Fuerza Aerea Mexicanos Bethlemitas, and walk around Alameda Central.
To see more things to do, reviews, maps, and other tourist information, use the Mexico City road trip planning site.
Expect a daytime high around 27°C in July, and nighttime lows around 15°C. Finish your sightseeing early on the 2nd (Fri) to allow enough time to travel back home.
