Probably one of Mexico's best-known beach resorts, Acapulco came into prominence in the mid-20th century, when it became a getaway for Hollywood movie stars and European millionaires.
Spend the 9th (Wed) exploring nature at Parque Nacional El Veladero. Next up on the itinerary: take in the dramatic natural features at La Quebrada, take a stroll through Punta Diamante, make a trip to Centro Cultural La Casa de los Vientos, and see the interesting displays at Fuerte De San Diego.

Do a combination of bus and taxi from Acapulco to Zihuatanejo in 4.5 hours. Alternatively, you can drive. When traveling from Acapulco in March, plan for a bit cooler days and about the same nights in Zihuatanejo: temperatures range from 86°F by day to 68°F at night. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 22nd (Tue) to allow time to travel to Petatlan.

Step out of Taxco to go to Cacahuamilpa and see Rio subterraneo Chontalcoatlan, which is approximately 52 minutes away. Next up on the itinerary: pause for some serene contemplation at Santa Prisca de Taxco, don't miss a visit to Ex-convento de San Bernardino de Siena, see the interesting displays at Museo Casa de Las Lagrimas o Casa Figueroa, and get great views at Cristo Monumental Taxco.
