A sharp contrast to the capital of Minsk, Brest is a city filled with fortress ruins, old culture, and medieval history.
Venture out of the city with trips to Military History Museum of Suvorov (in Kobryn) and Bielaviežskaja pušča National Park (in Kamianiuki). The capital city of the region of the same name, Grodno (also called Hrodna) was built around the river flowing through it, and is known as a hub for the arts celebrating both modern and classical culture with three major theaters, a philharmonic society, and a multitude of museums.
Step out of Grodno with an excursion to Wolf Monument in Vawkavysk--about 1h 20 min away. There's much more to do: admire the landmark architecture of Kalozha Church Boris-Gleb Church, go for a walk through Sovetskaya Street, examine the collection at Pharmacy Museum, and delve into the distant past at The Old Castle.

Mir is a town in Kareličy raion, Hrodna Voblast, Belarus on the banks of Miranka River, about 85 kilometers southwest of the national capital, Minsk.Prior to 1939 the town was in Poland.HistoryMir village was founded sometime prior to 1345. Explore Mir's surroundings by going to Church of the Assumption (in Novy Svierzan), St. Joseph's Church (in Rubezhevichi) and Nesvizh (City Hall in Nesvizh, Symon Budny Monument, &more). Next up on the itinerary: step into the grandiose world of Mir Castle, appreciate the history behind Sculpture of Bathers Vasya, make a trip to Sparrow Monument, and pause for some serene contemplation at Holy Trinity Church.

Start off your visit on the 17th (Fri): take in panoramic vistas at Observation Tower, don't miss a visit to Palace of the Rumyantsevs and the Paskeviches, then make a trip to Gomel Palace & Park Ensemble, then pause for some photo ops at Zero Kilometer, and finally learn about all things military at Gomel Regional Museum of Military Glory.
