Lima — 2 nights

Founded in 1535 by Spanish explorer Francisco Pizarro, Lima represents an interesting blend of modern attractions and preserved colonial architecture, much of it clustered in the World Heritage-listed city center.
Kick off your visit on the 27th (Tue): take an in-depth tour of Museo Convento San Francisco y Catacumbas, then don't miss a visit to Plaza de Armas (Plaza Mayor), then shop like a local with Shopping Center Larcomar (Centro Comercial Larcomar), and finally stroll around Parque Kennedy - Parque Central de Miraflores. On the next day, wander the streets of Miraflores, then explore the ancient world of Huaca Pucllana, and then stroll through Circuito Magico Del Agua.

Madrid, Spain to Lima is an approximately 15-hour flight. Due to the time zone difference, you'll gain 6 hours traveling from Madrid to Lima. Traveling from Madrid in December, things will get much warmer in Lima: highs are around 28°C and lows about 22°C. Finish your sightseeing early on the 28th (Wed) to allow enough time to fly to Cusco.

Cusco — 1 night

Capital of the Inca Empire for three centuries, World Heritage-listed Cusco is now a major tourist destination, drawing nearly 2 million annual tourists with its well-preserved colonial architecture and proximity to Machu Picchu.
On the 29th (Thu), admire the masterpieces at Museo de Arte Precolombino, steep yourself in history at Sacsayhuaman, then contemplate the long history of Plaza de Armas, and finally delve into the distant past at Centro Historico De Cusco.

Fly from Lima to Cusco in 3.5 hours. Alternatively, you can drive; or take a bus. Traveling from Lima in December, expect nights in Cusco to be much colder, around 9°C, while days are little chillier, around 24°C. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 30th (Fri) to allow time to drive to Machu Picchu.

A symbol of the Incan civilization, the abandoned city of Machu Picchu represents a must-see on a Peru vacation.
Kick off your visit on the 30th (Fri): appreciate the history behind Rocas Sagradas and then contemplate the long history of Santuario Historico de Machu Picchu.

Traveling by car from Cusco to Machu Picchu takes 4.5 hours. Alternatively, you can do a combination of bus and train; or take a train. On the 31st (Sat), you're off to Mancora.

Mancora — 4 nights

In a busy little beach town, Mancora tourism industry continues to grow, largely thanks to the sunniest climate of any region in the country.
Go for a jaunt from Mancora to Piura to see Playa Lobitos about 1h 25 min away. The adventure continues: kick back and relax at Playa Vichayito, see some colorful creatures with a scuba or snorkeling tour, observe the fascinating underwater world at Acuario Mundo Hippocampus, and relax and rejuvenate at some of the top local wellness centers.

You can do a combination of flight and bus from Machu Picchu to Mancora in 8.5 hours. Alternatively, you can drive; or do a combination of taxi and bus. In December, daytime highs in Mancora are 33°C, while nighttime lows are 26°C. On the 4th (Wed), wrap the sightseeing up by early afternoon so you can travel back home.
