Hike up to Tepozteco, the ancient Aztec temple dedicated to Tepoztecatl, the god of the pulque drink. Overlooking the rustic village of Tepoztlan, known for its Mezcal production, the archaeological site consists of a 10 m (33 ft) high, pyramid-shaped temple perched on a sheer clifftop. On the strenuous uphill trek to the temple, you will pass through lush green rainforest, see waterfalls and rock formations, and perhaps spot the elusive coati. When you reach the pyramid, you will be rewarded with a vista of the town and verdant rainforest below. Crazy long hike to the top. It's a jungle so bring hiking gear food and water. But it's worth it once you get to the top. And try some ice cream in the little town. This town has lots to do. And plan on arriving early and leaving late. This is not a good hike for kids that are young. Bring lots of water and snacks. Remember to only drink bottle water as well. Check the weather because rain can cause flooding on the mountain. Also bring a portable charger.

I went on June 19, 21. It was closed but I already knew it was closed since hotel informed me. It was a hard hike, but definitely worth it. Will have to come back once the pyramid is open.
