Create an itinerary including Parroquia de San Miguel Arcangel
Looking more like something out of a fairy tale than from real life, Parroquia de San Miguel Arcangel is the main landmark of San Miguel de Allende. The building, constructed in 1683, is colored matt pink, with numerous spires reaching for the sky. The spires, which were designed in the 19th century, are the only architectural feature of the church that’s not from the 17th century. According to legend, the design come about from a Belgian church that the architect saw on a post card. He showed his builders how to construct the church by drawing plans in the sand. • In a town with several beautiful churches, this was our favorite. We first saw it near sunset when it glowed with a coral/salmon color--gorgeous! But whether in bright sunlight or seen at night lit...

  • An amazing church with a great location on the "square" . There is a second, original church to the east that is connected to the larger church, also.

  • Beautiful and free. No entrance during services. Not as good to go mid day as the church is washed out for photos. Best photos can be taken from the left and right of the church inside the gate.
  • Beautiful small town with beauty in each corner. You can find really expensive restaurants but also amazing local affordable ones.
