  • Stopped here on the way home from el rubí. What an amazing place. So sad that there's no real signs or anything that really shows it's there. We got there right when they where doing the ceremonial flying dance to the sun God for rain. What an incredible sight. Then to go see the pyramids and all the other structures inside was great. Total cost for my wife, me and kid was 8.50$ for pyramids and 5$ for the ceremonial dance.
  • A large prehistoric site located in a very remote location of Mexico. It can only be reached by car and the final approach is an ill maintained one lane road. Price of admission is 85 pesos. there is a parking located in a field of grass several hundred yards from the entrance, and before one makes it to the site you've got to negotiate a bazaar full of vendors of all kinds. They are not too overbearing though, which is nice. The site itself is reached through a visitor center building that houses a gift shop, a restaurant and bathrooms. El Tajin is a fairly large site with a number of structures that have been excavated and reconstructed, however, most of its buildings are still unexcavated. You may not climb or so much as touch the monuments and large sections of the city are roped off despite being reconstructed. There is not a whole lot of shade so put your sunscreen on and bring plenty of fluids, and a hat.
