The Mater Ecclesiae Monastery (Latin for 'Mother of the Church') is a monastery located inside Vatican City. It was founded around 1990 by Pope John Paul II as a monastery for cloistered nuns. We wanted to visit this place, but it appears it is located in semi private part of Vatican city and you need special permission to enter it. It was not clear where to get it from, as the workers around barely speak in English and cannot explain or even understand the question.
