Take a walk along the long stretch of sand at Chesterman Beach, as surfers ride the waves and friendly locals walk their dogs. Find a spot to sit and enjoy the sunset, or build a fire after dark and watch the stars. At low tide, you can stroll out to the rocky island outcrop and explore the exposed tidal pools. Keep an eye on the time, though; the tide can rise very quickly and could leave you stranded on the rocks. It’s really nice place to go vacation. The Legislation building is really beautiful. But hard garden is nice also. If we have time we’re going to Torino but need more day to stay. Malahat Skywalk are.... more

Really nice beach...more sandy than others, lovely crescent, great for strolling, plenty of room to spread out and hang or to enjoy the surf.

Probably the best beach in the area, during low tides you can walk a long way out. Plus, you will catch breathtaking views, especially if you are there for the sunset.

Water was cold when we went in the evening ( Month: July mid). I guess thats the situation almost year long. Afternoons are pleasant. Strongly recommend for beginner surfers. Beware of unleashed pets( even though not allowed legally). Even for swimmers, recommended to wear surfing swimsuit.
