Corpus Christi Church in Nesvizh, Nesvizh

See one of the oldest Baroque structures outside Italy at Corpus Christi Church in Nesvizh. The church is an early Jesuit temple which influenced the later architecture of Belarus, Poland, and Lithuania. Take note of the Italian-style frescoes on the interior walls and the large painting of the Last Supper in the apse behind the main altar. A crypt under the church houses the remains of nearly 80 members of the powerful Radziwiłł family, who were politicians and art patrons. Mikołaj Krzysztof "the Orphan" Radziwiłł commissioned the building of the church in the late 16th century.
