Bielaviežskaja pušča National Park, Kamianiuki

Hike or cycle through Bielaviežskaja pušča National Park, the remains of a primeval forest which once spread across the European plain. This World Heritage Site is home to wolves, lynxes, otters, and the endangered European bison. Seek out the large, ancient English oaks, which are individually named. Attractions here include a nature museum and a zoo, and you'll also find souvenir and food stands. Take a bus to the Santa Claus residence--a small, artificial village based on Russian folklore. Walk among wooden huts and see the wooden statues representing different fairy tale characters. Due to strict preservation regulations, tourists are allowed only in the buffer zone of the forest.
