Quarry City

Beautifully preserved architecture and a refreshing lack of mass tourism remain among the main reasons to take a trip to Zacatecas, a colonial-era city at the heart of Mexico.
On the 4th (Sun), see the interesting displays at Rafael Coronel Museum (Museo Rafael Coronel), take in the awesome beauty at Cerro de la Bufa, and then go deep underground at Mina El Eden. Here are some ideas for day two: contemplate in the serene atmosphere at Catedral de Zacatecas, don't miss a visit to Plaza de Armas, then examine the collection at Parroquia de Santo Domingo, and finally examine the collection at Museo de Guadalupe.
