Colombia's heart and soul, Bogota has earned the nickname "Athens of South America" thanks to its abundance of universities, libraries, and lower-level schools.
Venture out of the city with trips to Zipaquira (Esensal, Catedral de Sal de Zipaquira, &more) and Laguna de Guatavita (in Tierra Negra). And it doesn't end there: see the interesting displays at Gold Museum (Museo del Oro), walk around Parque Metropolitano Simon Bolivar, admire the masterpieces at Museo Botero del Banco de la Republica, and take a stroll through Barrio La Candelaria.

To see where to stay, reviews, more things to do, and more tourist information, go to the Bogota travel route app.

If you are flying in from Brazil, the closest major aiport is El Dorado International Airport. In November in Bogota, expect temperatures between 22°C during the day and 10°C at night. Wrap up your sightseeing by early afternoon on the 7th (Sun) to allow enough time to travel to Medellin.
