Founded in 1535 by Spanish explorer Francisco Pizarro, Lima represents an interesting blend of modern attractions and preserved colonial architecture, much of it clustered in the World Heritage-listed city center.
On the 9th (Fri), wander the streets of Barranco, take a stroll through Miraflores, then delve into the distant past at Huaca Pucllana, and finally make a trip to Plaza de Armas (Plaza Mayor). Keep things going the next day: get engrossed in the history at Museo Larco, take in the spiritual surroundings of San Pedro Church (Iglesia de San Pedro), take in the architecture and atmosphere at Iglesia y Convento de San Francisco, then wander the streets of Centro Historico de Lima, and finally walk around Circuito Magico Del Agua.

Kuwait City, Kuwait to Lima is an approximately 22.5-hour flight. You can also do a combination of car and flight. The time zone difference when traveling from Kuwait City to Lima is minus 8 hours. Traveling from Kuwait City in August, things will get much colder in Lima: highs are around 22°C and lows about 18°C. Finish up your sightseeing early on the 10th (Sat) so you can travel to Cusco.

Capital of the Inca Empire for three centuries, World Heritage-listed Cusco is now a major tourist destination, drawing nearly 2 million annual tourists with its well-preserved colonial architecture and proximity to Machu Picchu.
Get a sense of the local culture at Sacsayhuaman and Sacred Valley of the Incas. Visit San Blas and Centro Historico De Cusco for their historical value. Step out of Cusco to go to Maras and see Salinas de Maras, which is approximately 1h 15 min away. There's much more to do: steep yourself in history at Plaza de Armas, pause for some serene contemplation at Iglesia De Santo Domingo, take an in-depth tour of Museo Quechua, and explore the world behind art at Museo de Arte Precolombino.

Traveling by flight from Lima to Cusco takes 2 hours. Alternatively, you can drive; or take a bus. Traveling from Lima in August, plan for colder nights in Cusco, with lows around 2°C. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 14th (Wed) to allow time to travel to Quito.
