Start off your visit on the 11th (Sat): steep yourself in history at Walled City of Cartagena and then contemplate the long history of Plaza Santo Domingo. Here are some ideas for day two: pause for some serene contemplation at Sanctuary of Saint Peter Claver, then step into the grandiose world of Castillo de San Felipe de Barajas, then see some colorful creatures with a scuba or snorkeling tour, and finally stop by El Centro Artesano.

Step out of Bogota with an excursion to Catedral de Sal de Zipaquira in Zipaquira--about 54 minutes away.
