City of Palaces

Breathtakingly large, Mexico City provides a home for almost 9 million people living in nearly 1,700 distinct neighborhoods.
Start off your visit on the 9th (Wed): don't miss a visit to Paseo de la Reforma, get engrossed in the history at Museo Nacional de Antropologia, then step into the grandiose world of Chapultepec Castle, and finally get to know the fascinating history of Zocalo. On your second day here, see the interesting displays at Museo Frida Kahlo, explore the world behind art at Palacio de Bellas Artes, then delve into the distant past at Museo del Templo Mayor, and finally take in the spiritual surroundings of Metropolitan Cathedral (Catedral Metropolitana).

To find ratings, photos, other places to visit, and more tourist information, go to the Mexico City trip planning tool.

If you are flying in from United States, the closest major aiports are Licenciado Benito Juarez International Airport, Querétaro Intercontinental Airport and General Francisco J. Mujica International Airport. In May, plan for daily highs up to 79°F, and evening lows to 57°F. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 10th (Thu) to allow time to travel back home.
