Although part of Colombia, the small, isolated Providencia Island retains its Caribbean culture and English-Creole language.
Start off your visit on the 23rd (Sun): get outside with Almond Bay and then head off the coast to Crab Cay. Keep things going the next day: make a trip to The Peak Forestry Reserve, visit a coastal fixture at Lighthouse Providencia, and then see some colorful creatures with a scuba or snorkeling tour.

Colombia's heart and soul, Bogota has earned the nickname "Athens of South America" thanks to its abundance of universities, libraries, and lower-level schools.
Museum-lovers will get to explore Gold Museum (Museo del Oro) and Museo Botero del Banco de la Republica. Visiting Laguna de Guatavita and Mount Monserrate will get you outdoors. Step out of Bogota with an excursion to Catedral de Sal in Zipaquira--about 54 minutes away. There's lots more to do: take a stroll around Centro Internacional de Negocios y Exposiciones, hunt for treasures at Plaza de Mercado de Paloquemao, and stop by Vitrina Guayca.
