Founded in 1535 by Spanish explorer Francisco Pizarro, Lima represents an interesting blend of modern attractions and preserved colonial architecture, much of it clustered in the World Heritage-listed city center.
On the 4th (Mon), don't miss a visit to Miraflores, delve into the distant past at Huaca Pucllana, then make a trip to Plaza de Armas (Plaza Mayor), and finally take in the architecture and atmosphere at Iglesia y Convento de San Francisco. Get ready for a full day of sightseeing on the 5th (Tue): ponder the world of politics at Palacio de Torre Tagle, then take an in-depth tour of Larco Museum, then shop like a local with Shopping Center Larcomar (Centro Comercial Larcomar), and finally don't miss a visit to Parque de la Reserva.

Phoenix, USA to Lima is an approximately 15-hour flight. Traveling from Phoenix to Lima, you'll lose 2 hours due to the time zone difference.
