One of east Asia's major cultural and financial centers, Seoul boasts five World Heritage Sites and a huge selection of museums, temples, shrines, palaces, parks, gardens, and glass-and-steel skyscrapers.
Visit Insadong and Changdeokgung Palace for their historical value. Gyeongbokgung Palace and Cheonggyecheon Stream are good opportunities to explore the local culture. Venture out of the city with trips to Korean Folk Village (in Yongin), Paju (The Third Tunnel & Dora Observatory) and Ilsan Lake Park (in Goyang). Spend the 26th (Sun) exploring nature at Bukhansan National Park. Pack the 2nd (Thu) with family-friendly diversions at Lotte World. There's still lots to do: get to know the fascinating history of Bukchon, take in nature's colorful creations at Namsan Park, contemplate the long history of Jongmyo Shrine, and don't miss a visit to Hwaseong Fortress.

Sokcho

Tourism in Sokcho mostly revolves around the local national park, a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve.
Take a break from the city and head to Seoraksan National Park and Naksan Beach. Change things up with these side-trips from Sokcho: Gangneung (Gyeongpodae & Gyeongpo Beach) and Naksansa Temple (in Yangyang-gun). And it doesn't end there: hike along Ulsanbawi Rock, admire the sheer force of Biryong Falls, enjoy the sea views from Sokcho Lighthouse Observatory, and contemplate the long history of Gwongeumseong Fortress.

Traveling by car from Seoul to Sokcho takes 2.5 hours. Alternatively, you can take a bus. Expect a daytime high around 11°C in March, and nighttime lows around 2°C. Finish up your sightseeing early on the 10th (Fri) so you can go by car to Chuncheon.

Chuncheon

The capital of the country's northernmost province, the city of Chuncheon acts a gateway to the wilder sights of the rural region.
Kick off your visit on the 11th (Sat): step off the mainland to explore Nami Island and then take a stroll through Chuncheon Myeongdong Dakgalbi Street.

Getting from Sokcho to Chuncheon by car takes about 2 hours. Other options: drive; or take a bus. In March, daily temperatures in Chuncheon can reach 11°C, while at night they dip to 2°C. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 12th (Sun) early enough to travel to Cheongju.

Cheongju is the capital and largest city of North Chungcheong Province in South Korea.HistoryCheongju has been an important provincial town since ancient times.During Hideyoshi's Invasions of Korea, Cheongju was the site of the Battle of Chongju, during which the Korean forces re-took the city from the Japanese forces in an important early victory.The government of the province relocated here from Chungju in 1908.The opening of the Chungbuk-line in 1926 sparked regional development. Get some cultural insight at Sangdangsanseong Fortress and Gongju National Museum. Sangdangsanseong Fortress and Gongsanseong will appeal to history buffs. Change things up with a short trip to Songnisan National Park in Boeun-gun (about 1h 05 min away). Next up on the itinerary: contemplate the long history of Cheongnamdae and explore the engaging exhibits at Cheongju National Museum.

One of the most popular tourist destinations in the Republic of Korea, Gyeongju combines a rich cultural heritage with mountain and coastal scenery.

Busan

The country's second city, Busan has often been referred to as South Korea's summer capital.
Get a sense of the local culture at Gamcheon Culture Village and Busan Museum. Step out of the city life by going to Haeundae Beach and Songdo Beach. When in Busan, make a side trip to see Yeojwacheon Stream in Changwon, approximately 1h 25 min away. There's much more to do: tour the pleasant surroundings at Gwangalli Beach, relax and rejuvenate at some of the top local wellness centers, take in the spiritual surroundings of Beomeosa, and enjoy the sand and surf at Songjeong Beach.

Traveling by car from Gyeongju to Busan takes 1.5 hours. Alternatively, you can drive; or do a combination of bus and train. Traveling from Gyeongju in March, you will find days in Busan are slightly colder (9°C), and nights are a bit warmer (7°C). Wrap up your sightseeing on the 3rd (Mon) early enough to travel to Jeju.

Jeju, Jeju Island

The main town on the largest of Korea's islands, Jeju has a volcanic landscape protected by UNESCO.
Hallim Park and Samseonghyeol will appeal to history buffs. Take a break from the city and head to Manjanggul Cave and Hamdeok Beach. Venture out of the city with trips to Seogwipo (Seongsan Ilchulbong & Jeongbang Waterfall). On the 11th (Tue), give your taste buds a day to remember with a local gastronomic tour. You can fly from Busan to Jeju in 2 hours. Other options are to do a combination of car and ferry; or do a combination of bus and ferry. Expect a bit warmer weather when traveling from Busan in April: highs in Jeju hover around 20°C, while lows dip to 11°C. Gwangju is the sixth largest city in South Korea. Deepen your sense of the past at sights like Gwanghallu and Nagan Eupseong Folk Village. Take a break from the city and head to Mudeungsan National Park and Boseong Green Tea Field Daehan Dawon. Explore Gwangju's surroundings by going to Naejangsan National Park (in Jeongeup) and Suncheon (Songgwangsa Temple & Seonamsa Temple).
