Inka Pintay Reviews
This is a not too difficult hike in interesting ruins. Plan at least 1 1/2 hours to hike the entire ruins. more »
Impozantní hora, na kterou získáte skvělý výhled, pokud se v archeologickém parku na ruinách inckého města Ollantaytambo vydáte po prudkých schodech kolem zemědělských teras, směrem k nedokončenému Ch... more »An imposing mountain where you will get a great view, if you take a steep staircase around the farmlands on the ruins of Ollantaytambo, the ancient temple of the city, towards the unfinished sun-dome with the six monolithic wall, where it was important Ceremonial centre of the inks. To highlight the importance of this important center of the entire Inca empire, the Inca carved into the rock, towering on the opposite slope, the unmissable face of his God Viracoch. This protagonist of Inca mythology had symbolically overseen all the events and protected the entire city of Ollantaytambo from evil spirits. How to see Viracochu in the Rock? Looking out from the upper terraces of Ollantaytamba to the opposite mountain, focus on the place where the Inková built well-visible warehouses in the rock and then look more to the left to see this monumental work that gives the mountain and the whole place Mystical atmosphere.
Waste of money. There are 20,000 miles of Inca trails in South America, and just for the 30 miles to Macchu Pichu you toss out $800 to $900 ( including mandatory tips!) per person to get little in return. I can spend days in the Alps or on the Appalachian trail without a personal chef cooking 3 course meals just for me. Why this is the norm on the Inca trail escapes me! I strongly recommend to go directly to Macchu Pichu by train, book tickets to also hike up Huayna Pichu. Burn your carbs elsewhere in Peru, there is plenty of free or at least cheaper trails.
