  • Kabah is part of the archaeological areas of the Puuc Route. It is right by the roadside, being visible from the outside without problems, unlike Sayil, Xlapak and Labná. Despite being small compared to Uxmal, the buildings are very well preserved and restored, especially the facade with many masks of the rain god, Chaac. This was my favorite part of this Mayan city. It is not only the masks, but the details of the walls of the building, some of which feature inscriptions and human statues. In addition to the main area that houses the monumental buildings, on the other side of the road there is a Mayan arch that marks the beginning of a "sacbé", Mayan road, towards Uxmal. To reach the arch, it is necessary to go and walk about 500 meters; at first glance you can't see it from the road. On Sundays, admission for Mexicans is free. Trifoot access is not allowed for the camera, so consider leaving it in the vehicle. Free parking is available outside the archaeological area.

  • Although it is a relatively small site, the pyramids have their identity and it is worth visiting to know something of the Puuc style.
