Tula Toltec Archaeological Ruins, Tula de Allende Municipality

Observe ancient ruins at Tula Toltec Archaeological Ruins, a Mesoamerican archeological site that once served as the capital of the Toltec Empire. Today the ruins consist of a settlement, a main cermonial site, and the Pyramid of Quetzalcoatl--the most popular of the attractions. The pyramid itself features four well-preserved, tall basalt columns carved to resemble Toltec warriors on top. While here, check out the on-site museum, which features displays of blueprints and Toltec culture, architectecture, and artwork.
