Fabrica La Aurora, San Miguel de Allende
Trip Planner: Mexico / Central Mexico and Gulf Coast / Guanajuato / San Miguel de Allende / Fabrica La Aurora
Visit Fabrica La Aurora, a historical textile factory housing an array of galleries, exhibitions, and shops. Peruse high-end homewares, prints of famous artworks, and exhibitions by local artists, all set among the remnants of heavy mill machinery. After walking around and taking in the vast quantity of wares, pop into one of the gourmet restaurants and cafes for a bite to eat and a rejuvenating cup of coffee. Due to the scale of this place, it's recommended that you leave a couple of hours to absorb everything, which may test the patience of some children. What a large artistic landscape! This used to be textile factory that employed many all the locals and in the past 20 years was renovated and turned into art studios. Lots of fancy art work, gifts, furniture, it also has 2 cafes inside. A good day trip to view and chill.
This is a fascinating place! It is a museum, art gallery, and shops, featuring beautiful art and antiques. Have lots of time - it is huge! Well worth a visit.
