Trip Planner: Mexico / Central Mexico and Gulf Coast / Queretaro / Queretaro City / El Acueducto De Queretaro
Admire the effort and energy that went into the design and construction of El Acueducto De Queretaro, one of the largest such structures in the country. With 74 tall arches, the aqueduct extends 1,298 m (4,259 ft) through the downtown area. Constructed between 1726 and 1738 at a cost of $125,000, the structure supplied much-needed fresh drinking water to the town, which celebrated its completion with a 15-day festival. Today, the aqueduct represents one of the town's most famous structures, and has a symbolic value as well as an aesthetic and architectural one. Plan your visit to El Acueducto De Queretaro and a wealth of other attractions, well-known and undiscovered, using our Queretaro City trip itinerary builder website.

I first drove into town in December 2015, it was like a mirage. I had never driven into town from the 200 hwy. there are a few places in the Area that are good for dining. The view at night is amazing.
A very interesting landmark and visit and walk along. Grab a coffee or some food at one of the many shops along this aqueduct. Built around 1730 for the need for clean water from local springs.
