Witness grand 17th-century architecture at Basilica de la Soledad, located Oaxaca city's historic center, which has been declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. Built between 1682 and 1690 from green cantera stone, the church is laid out in the shape of a Latin cross. Admire the church's baroque exterior, with its spires and towers intentionally sitting low to withstand earthquakes. The facade displays statues of religious icons, including the Virgin Mary. Inside, head to the west gallery and find an organ that dates back to 1686.
