Museo Memoria y Tolerancia, Mexico City

4.7
Visit the culturally important Museo Memoria y Tolerancia, a potentially harrowing museum that traces the genocides of the 20th century and aims to highlight the need for tolerance and respect for diversity. Over several floors you’ll experience in-depth looks at the Holocaust of World War II, as well as the Guatemalan, Rwandan, and Czechoslovakian conflicts. Despite the morbid content matter, the exhibits are artistic and often hopeful, and the overall message conveys a sense of peace and understanding. Consider taking a guided tour, or take an audio tour if you don't speak Spanish. • How important It is to visit this wonderful museum with a guide. It'S The second time I've been to this place, but with the big difference that I did now with a guide.., And What's a huge difference!... They explain details that at first glance one can not capture if it comes without the help of an expert. Unfortunately I do not remember the name of the guide but it was noticeable that he loves his work, he did it with such passion and dedication as if it were the first time and I congratulate him for it, because that makes one values more what he sees and what he learns. These Are lessons never forgotten. This Museum opens you in every way, not only the eyes, but the mind and the heart, and makes us see with hardness, what the human being is able to do, either the extremely good, and the extremely bad. A good place to think. Amazing and recommended to 100%!

  • There are different exhibitions dedicated precisely to the tolerance would be convenient to consult that exhibition is at the time to visit it to go a little documented.

  • I cannot recommend this museum enough! I've recently been to a similar exhibition in Santiago and Lima and this is probably the best. It's got so much content and everything is laid out in a very easy flow to the visitor. Admission fee starts at 90 pesos (around 18 dollars - mar/19) for an unguided tour.
  • Good museum but it wouldn't be a bad idea to add descriptions on English. As well - this supposed to be a museum of tolerance but it seems like the main focus of the museum was WW2 and Nazy Germany (80%). It needs to be balanced out a bit to include religions, sexual orientation and other issues that world is facing.
