The Basilica is a world in itself where multiple groups of pilgrims arrive to honor Mexico's patrona. It is a strong spiritual experience to enter and approach the electric belts where you can be easily overwhelmed by emotion if you are Catholic as you look up to see the Tilma of Guadalupe.. But if you are of a different belief you will be exposed to the great reverence that Mexicans show all around this incredible shrine.
The Basilica of Our Lady of Guadalupe is located in Zumarraga which is around 25-30 minutes ride via Uber from Bolivar street where our hotel is located. The Basilica is huge and beautiful. There is an entrance wherein you can see the clothe where the venerated image of the Virgin. Beside the Basilica there are two old churches. If you are a Catholic this place you should not miss. The architectures are simply amazing. The two old churches are not leveled if you try to look into the details maybe because of the earthquakes and there are also some cracks. A must see if you are visiting Mexico City.
