  • See that tree takes us to think, here was Hernán Cortes, here was defeated, here was the beautiful Malinche, all those men who came without a weight to conquer a new land, passed through here and will never know if it was good or bad to bring us new education , new gods, new customs, what if it is that from those days was written in New Mexico history.

  • Passage to Mexico I went to see tree "the sad night" that the Mexicans also call tree of victory. Indeed the Aztecs attacked the Spaniards who have a run away from the capital on the night of June 30 to July 1, 1520. Cortés lost that night, half of its Spanish soldiers and a good portion of gold shot past looting. It is under this tree that he wept this disaster. Fortunately a week after with its allies Tlaxcaltecas and hundreds of Spaniards he crushed an army of 40 000 Aztecs July 7, 1520 and in August 1521 he returned put siege to Mexico and sign the last undo of the Mexicas who were hated by all the neighboring Nations among whom they were prisoners for their appalling human sacrifices. Unfortunately someone has set fire to this millennial Ahuehuete which remains as the trunk and some burned branches. A historic yet. You must be stupid to do that.
