See some fine examples of the Mexican muralist movement at Antiguo Colegio de San Ildefonso. The complex dates back to 1588, when it was founded as a Jesuit college, and later became the national preparatory school. The school closed in 1978, and since 1992 the complex has housed a museum and cultural center. View the original street facade of the college, covered in red volcanic stone, and explore the interior's many murals by Diego Rivera, Jose Clemente Orozco, and others. Visit the art and archaeological collections, including permanent and temporary exhibits of local artists. • Former college that now houses art and incredible murals. The building itself is a work of art. Well worth visiting to understand the vast history of CDMX.  more »

  • Very disappointing visit, as all rooms were closed and under construction and the only things you could see where the hallways, which are beautiful, but not what you pay the entrance fee for. Also, none of the staff felt the need to let us know about this, despite being Spanish natives and having no communication issues...
  • Beautiful place worth the cheap entrance fee. Many nice murals by orozco but I never saw any Diego murals
