Must see · Architectural Building · Landmark
Take a stroll down the pedestrianized main avenue of Paseo de Montejo, taking in the wonderful European-style architecture of the mansions, local street performers, and impressive artworks. The avenue makes a good spot for peaceful people-watching, or an afternoon amble with a tasty ice cream. Stop for a coffee and watch the daily activities, or peruse one of the museums on the strip. Bring some water and sunscreen along with you, as there isn’t much shade to be found on the avenue. For travelers who use our international travel planner, Merida holidays become easier to arrange, with trips to the Paseo de Montejo and other attractions mapped out and timetabled.

  • Loved my visit! The view from the street is very interesting and once inside I felt like I was in France. The staff was helpful in answering questions. I randomly walked by and I am so glad I did.  more »
