Trip Planner: Mexico / Central Mexico and Gulf Coast / Hidalgo / Huasca de Ocampo / Prismas Basalticos
See an unusual geological formation at Prismas Basalticos, a set of tall basalt columns through which a stream of water runs. Located in a scenic ravine, the cluster of thin, matchstick-like columns owes its striking form to the slow cooling of volcanic lava. First championed by German explorer and intellectual Alexander von Humboldt, the natural attraction today benefits from the addition of stairs, walkways, and bridges, making it easy to get up close. Instead of entering we took the boat tour of the dam and then went to San Miguel Regla, there until the restaurant let us all in!

Beautiful place, you can see one of the most interesting natural places in the world , surrounded by a beautiful lake, you can eat some quesadillas and buy some handcrafted art stuff or if you prefer you can lay in the grass and have a nice pic mix they have pools and some soccer fields.
A real wonder of nature. The view is spectacular and there is a Tyrolean traverse. A good place to walk and admire this geological wonders.
