  • The Guide knew well and informed our very small Group well in English. The Group was divided and the larger Part got a Spanish-speaking Guide. Although we had read again and again that you could save Yourself Tulum and Coba after Chichen Itza, we tried it and are thrilled. Chichen Itza is very beautiful and really a MUST. Coba, though, is peerless. It is located in the middle of The Jungle (Mosquitoes hardly existed in January) and on the Way to the only (still) asclined Pyramid in Mexico lie many other ancient Buildings, some of which are still covered by the Jungle. The Temperatures are very pleasant for a Hike (you can also rent a Bike). Climbing the Pyramid requires good Footwear and something Mut.Especially the Descent is not quite harmless with Slumps. The Cenote Tankach-Ha is fantastic because it is not lined with Restaurants and Shops, but is originally located in the Jungle. There is a simple Shower and a Changing Option. Then it goes 100 Steps into the Depths to a closed Cenote with 23 Degrees Water temperature and crystal clear Water. Except for our small Group, no one was present and no Salespeople bothered us. The Opposite to the Cenote on the Cichen Itza Tour. In Between there was a good Lunch buffet with Habaneros, salad, Chicken, etc. in traditional Preparation including a Drink. And then the beautiful Park of Tulum. We actually only expected a Pyramid by the Sea, which should be neither ascended nor particularly large. But We got a huge Complex with City Walls, a lot of buildings of the ancient City and a great View over the Caribbean Reef in front of Tulum. Other Than that, we were not taken by our guide to any Stores where you could buy great (overpriced, useless) Things, as is often done in the meantime to Supplement the Revenue.

  • We chose this option as it was all fairly close to hotel and meant we were back mid afternoon. The guide was great and the lunch was fine. We had enough time to have a dip in Tulum and enjoyed the Cen...  more »
