El Rey Archaeological Zone Reviews
El Rey ruins are very interesting and right in the hotel zone in Cancun. Just cost a couple dollars. There are tons of iguanas that are fun to feed. There are signs that say don’t feed but everyone do... more »
Easy to find, inexpensive and a short visit to see some amazing ancient history. A must see with tweens instead of the trek to Chichen Itza for a whole day. Save that for when the are older. more »
Really nice place to go see a bit of the temples. Also there are tons of Iguanas they don’t mind you any business until you throw some food or fruits to them. A whole group will start running to you to wait to throw some more stuff that was probably the best time there
Of the five sites we visited this was the smallest and closer to town. It was small on very roped off but it was nearly done with decent bathrooms. We spent only about a half hour at this smaller site but it was inexpensive to visit. Definitely not our favorite site but really not bad and close to the hotel zone/ downtown. Not nearly as spectacular as some of the larger sites but still interesting and was a good starter place.
