  • The experience of swimming with the whale shark is incredibly beautiful, however it was not too long for me to see so many boats around these species. The guide was very good, explained well the rules of the activity and knew a lot about the species. The snack before the tour is very simple but rich and lunch included very rich!

  • We had an amazing time together and with those we shared the adventure with on board the boat. The team was great and swimming with the whale sharks is now one of our favorite memories.  more »

  • I didn't not have my best experience. Laura, immediately rubbed me the wrong way at first meet. She scolded me for using biodegradable sunscreen. Keep in mind I researched being as eco-friendly as possible before coming to Cancun. She told me that I shouldn't use any sunscreen at all. However, they were selling their own brand at the counter before departure to see the whale sharks. Also, she didnt say anything to the people on the boat slathered in it at Isla Muejures. The boat is very small. They only offered used mouthpieces during this excursion but we weren't informed of this until 5-10 mins before encountering the whale sharks. Laura, told us to spit in the mask for keep the glass from fogging up. I was disgusted and uncomfortable. If this was the case people should've been advised to bring their own equipment. Although, it's ten people on the boat there are 50 other boats other with ten people. It was chaotic for me. Yes, you get to see these awesome creatures but it felt very rushed. The guides were basically just yelling at u and telling you where to swim to get the best view of the whale shark. After 2 jumps a piece you head to Isla Muejures for ceviche or a sandwich. You are offered small portions however we were asked if we wanted more. I just didn't have the greatest experience I thought I would have. Laura, definitely didn't like me for whatever reason. Upon return to my hotel she didn't say thank you for coming or anything. I certainly didnt feel like a valued customer.
  • I did the tour "Swim with the whale sharks" in August. It was a very bad experience. Reason 1: travel time Pick up at 6 AM in Playa del Carmen, drop off at 5 PM almost a 12 hours trip for about 5 minutes with the whale sharks! They pick up a bunch of people on the way, it's endless! Reason 2: lunch Ridiculous small portion (and I'm not american so I'm telling you the portion is really like a appetizer) and the trip is so long that yo will be STARVING!!! Reason 3: price Between 150 and 200 dollars for the tour PLUS the wetsuite 20 dollars (if you don't wear the wetsuit you have the wear the life vest when you swim with the whale sharks) PLUS if you want the pictures or videos it's about 100 dollars on top of all that! Reason 4: crowd Once the team find the whale sharks, you realize that there is a bunch of other boats and the experience is like in a circus! Not magic at all! Plenty of people in the water with you, everybody is chasing the beautiful whale sharks, it's a real pity.
