Salar de Uyuni, Uyuni

Perched atop a plateau 3,653 m (11,985 ft) above the sea, Salar de Uyuni, the world's largest salt flats, simply boggle the mind. Dry, baked salt covers much of the plateau, while seasonal pools of water and rainbow-colored mineral lakes add to the bizarre scenery. Photographers feel like they've landed in heaven, with amazing photo opportunities at every turn. It's not just for serious photographers, either--the vast expanses of flat, white ground allow you to take perspective-bending photographs. Play Godzilla, crushing your friends under your giant boot, or pretend to be a parrot clutching on to your mate's shoulder. • You can't leave Bolivia without seeing Uyuni's Salar and its island with millennia-old cactus ESCAHUASI. Unforgettable spectacle of this expanse of salt as far as the eye can see, a veritable sea of salt discovered in the early morning at 1 degree of temperature. Do as pictured ... totes follies are allowed to carry a memorable memory.
